Every week the analysis goes through earnings calls and filings looking for quarters that changed the forward picture. This week: three businesses reporting within days of each other, in three unrelated industries, each with something specific worth understanding.

Here is what is behind the paywall:

⚡ Stock 1 - Adjusted EPS up 60% to $1.52, beating consensus, with full-year guidance raised for the second consecutive quarter and a $15 billion backlog. Revenue came in below estimates purely on timing, and the stock fell roughly 12%. Management attributed the shortfall to supply chain congestion and multi-phase project scheduling rather than demand. It builds the power and cooling systems that keep AI data centers alive.

🔥 Stock 2 - Record backlog above $5 billion for the first time. Organic revenue growth of 10.1%, with one segment growing 22% organically. Adjusted free cash flow of $228M in the first half, up $42M. Guidance raised on both revenue and EBITDA. It inspects and services the systems that buildings are legally required to maintain, which makes most of its revenue recurring by regulation rather than by contract.

🏥 Stock 3 - Revenue of $1.44 billion, EPS of $1.68, and full-year guidance raised again. 20 new operations added in one quarter and 102 acquisitions since the start of 2024. A decentralised operating model that buys underperforming facilities and fixes them, compounding through acquisition in a fragmented industry nobody wants to analyse.

Let’s go.
